At the end of 2011 your Practice undertook a survey both at the Practice and via posting out questionnaires to seek the views and thoughts of a representative group of our Patients.
The full detailed results of this survey are now available on the Patient Participation Group page. The headline to this survey was that 86% of our Patients rated the Practice as Good, Very good or Excellent. Of course there were areas where we could improve and we met with our Patient Group in February to discuss key areas to work with them to further improve the Practice.
The two key areas they asked us to focus on throughout 2012 were the speed in which we answered calls, particularly first thing in the morning and the length of time you as a Patient have to wait when at the Surgery. The full minutes of that meeting can also be accessed on the Patient Participation Group page.
Your Practice is keen to listen to Patient views on issues either specific to the Practice or concerns you have with any service in the wider Health Economy. We are promoting a virtual group where we are asking for Patients? to allow us to contact them via email or text to seek their views and opinions. Please see the Patient Participation Group page.

You may consult any of the doctors at the practice. To find out which Doctors are available on a given day, please view: Doctor Availability by Week Day. Instructions for making an appointment can be found below:
We have been rearranging our appointment system to offer two types of doctor appointment - here is an update...
Appointments can be booked up to 4 weeks in advance. Same day urgent appointments are made available at 8.30 am by phone on 01785 815555.
Whenever you contact the surgery by phone or in person at the desk we will ask you whether you need a routine book ahead appointment or a same day urgent appointment.
Routine book ahead service (also available for internet booking)
You will be offered the next available routine appointment with any doctor or you may book to see a specific doctor if you prefer to wait longer for his/her availability.
Please use this service if you wish to discuss routine issues or wish to see a specific doctor.
We no longer offer same day availability for routine matters.
Same day urgent care service
About a third of our appointments are used for this same day booking service for urgent care only.
It is split between a few doctors on the day so we can rarely offer Dr choice in this urgent situation.
We will ensure that all urgent problems are seen as soon as possible on the day they arise.
Please don't block others urgent need for this service by booking same day for routine matters.
Some useful tips:
Book ahead if you wish to see a specific doctor as we cannot accommodate you on the day.
Unless urgent, avoid calling between 8:30-9:30am as this is our busiest time and you will be able to get through quicker to book a routine appointment at other times.
Please contact us as soon as you are aware that you have an urgent problem so that we can see you that day.
Please arrive a little before your booked time. A late arriving patient will delay the remainder of the surgery for all remaining patients - for this reason we ask patients arriving more than a few minutes late to rebook for another time.
However, please note that all of our Practice Nurse appointments should be booked in advance by phone or in person, so that we can allocate sufficient time for each procedure. We regret that at the moment Practice Nurse appointments cannot be booked via the internet.
If you are late for an appointment, you may be asked to re-book or wait until the end of surgery to be seen. The doctors try to keep to time but this is not always possible due to the complexity of some conditions. We would request your patience in such circumstances.
We are currently experiencing problems as demand grows for Dr Stafford’s appointments, please click here for further information.
If you cannot keep your appointment, please let us know. You can cancel your appointment online.
It is important to let us know if you need to cancel so that we are able to offer your appointment to someone else.
At the practice we offer a comprehensive range of health services.
If you have an urgent dental problem such as toothache or a dental abscess you should see a dentist not your GP.
If you have a regular dentist you should telephone them and arrange an urgent appointment. If they are closed there should be an answer phone message with the phone number of the local dentist covering emergencies. If you have trouble getting through call NHS Direct on 0845 46 47.
Advice is available from dental advisors regarding all dental problems from the British dental health foundation (BDHF).
